To mark the final chapter in the history of The Royal Irish Rangers, the 1st and the 2nd Battalion The Royal Irish Regiment trooped the Colours of their old regiment in Happy Valley, Cyprus, on Friday, 24 September 1993 for the last time.

The Colours of the 2nd Battalion The Royal Irish Rangers were trooped first before being handed over to the Regimental Depot Colour Party. The Colours of the 1st Battalion were then trooped and became the new Colours for the new Regiment’s 1st Battalion, the 1st Battalion The Royal Irish Regiment.
