Who we are

Hugh finished his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers as Managing Director, retiring in 2011. Since then, he has turned his interest in sustainable business to the Third Sector, taking the post of Bryson Charitable Group Chair from 2012 to 2020. He worked with the Board and Senior Management Team to develop a new strategic direction, define the Groups’ mission and values, rationalise the organisational structure, introduce private sector business practices and implement a management development programme. Hugh also joined the Board of Governors in 2017 of the Northern Regional College: Chair 2018-2021. As Chair he worked with the governors initially to establish financial sustainability as the college was in serious financial difficulties. Following this period, a new strategic plan was developed, programs to improve quality implemented, and approval was obtained from the sponsoring Department to modernise the various campuses with a multi-million investments to build new facilities.

From 2021-2022, Terri was Pro Vice Chancellor, Ulster University. As the Senior Officer, she was responsible for University strategy and operations including: academic planning & campus balance; international partnerships; global engagement & online learning; development & alumni relations; student recruitment, marketing & communications. Institutional budget in excess of £200m p.a., 2,500 staff, 26,500 students with campuses in Northern Ireland, Birmingham, London and Qatar. Principal and CEO, Northern Regional College, 2014-2021. Chief Officer of a tertiary level education institution with six campuses, 820 staff, 20,000 student enrolments providing FE and HE qualifications and training partnerships with more than 2000 businesses. Responsible for operating budget of £35m and securing capital of £85m to deliver two new campuses.

David has spent more than 30 years involved in major capital project delivery/development. Initially a project financier with a leading merchant bank in the City of London, followed by stint in a small West End Finance boutique where the firm won Project Financier of the Year in 2003/4. He was the first Chief Executive of the Strategic Investment Board in Northern Ireland tasked with helping transform NI’s infrastructure and he played a leading role in the negotiation of Titanic Belfast, one of the most seminal projects to occur in Belfast and playing a major role in repositioning tourism in Northern Ireland. Since then, he has continued to operate at a senior level in private organisations in Britain and Ireland working on a range of major capital projects. This included a stint as CEO of Titanic Quarter which is one of the largest waterfront regeneration projects in Europe.

Andy is a retired officer of 33 years’ service with The Royal Irish Regiment, regarded by some as the authority on the Irish in the British Army. With a BA in History and a MA in Museum Practice and Management, he is The Regiment’s Appointed Representative to UNTOLD, and has been involved with the project since its inception.

With 30 years’ experience as a soldier and officer, Leo has pursued a successful career in events management, branding and marketing. He has extensive experience in successful charity fundraising appeals.

Rosemary, who has practised in commercial property law for the past 25 years, never lost her fascination with history. She completed a degree in Irish History in 2021 and has since retrained as a history teacher, based

Wayne brings a wealth of financial knowledge and experience, garnered over the past 23 years, particularly in the charitable space where he as managed assets ranging from £500K to £100M. In conjunction with other sector SMEs, he provides ongoing charity trustee training to his clients to ensure they remain current and competent.

Laura represents the stories of The Royal Irish Regiment and ensures both Boards of Trustees work together to best share the stories contained in the collections and archives.

Vikki graduated from the University of Lincoln in 2010 with a degree in Conservation and Restoration, and completed an MA in Preventive Conservation at Northumbria University in 2025. She has worked with local and national museums, archives, and on freelance projects, focusing on collections care, documentation, and preventive conservation. As a trustee, she brings practical sector experience and supports clear decision-making around collections and care standards.

Charles Plunket is a retired Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors in the Land Agency division. He was the Land Agent for the 5 th and 6 th Dukes of Westminster at Ely Lodge and Land Agent for the Duke of Abercorn at Belle Isle. He joined 4 UDR in 1972 as a part-time private and retired as senior major of 4 Royal Irish and was awarded the MBE. He lives in Co Fermanagh and is married with two daughters. He is a trustee of the Share Centre in Lisnaskea. He was made a DL of Co Fermanagh in 1976 and became Vice Lord-Lieutenant for 3 years before retiring in 2022.

The Royal Irish Fusiliers

Charlie retired from The Royal Irish Regiment in the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in 2005, having completed 34 years of service, the last five of which were in Regimental Headquarters. In his last two years of service, he became a trustee of The Royal Irish Regiment Museum in St Patrick’s Barracks, Ballymena. After four years, he then accepted the position of Chairman, primarily to oversee the transfer of the museum collection to storage in preparation for the new museum organisation. Upon the establishment of UNTOLD: The Collections and Archives, he agreed to become one of the trustees, ensuring continuity of knowledge and a passion for the story of the regiments.

Mike was educated in Belfast in the Boys’ Model and College of Technology. A keen sportsman, he represented N.I. on U16 and U18 international football teams. As an indentured apprentice at Shorts Brothers and Harland he was selected to represent apprentices in a U.T.V. documentary. Mike worked in various types of engineering companies and managed the construction of the largest oil storage tanks in Europe, later starting his own Consulting and Project Management companies. His interest in military history culminated in his membership of the North Irish Horse Regimental Association and now represents the N.I.H. on the Untold: The Collections and Archive Ltd Board as a Trustee and Director.
