A Warm Welcome

All our staff are trained to ensure you feel safe and welcome when you arrive at No. 28 and can’t wait to show you around.

Entrance and exit

Our main entrance/exit on Bedford Street is 100% accessible.  Please note that we are a listed building and as a result we are restricted in the improvements we can make.  Because of this, our lift might not be able to accommodate all styles of wheelchair.  The door is 800mm wide, and the internal space within the lift is 1200mm x 1200mm.  We apologise for this restriction.

Accessible Toilets & Changing Place

Accessible toilets are available on each floor of the museum.

Quiet Space

We have a number of quieter spaces across the building, just let the staff know you Need a Minute and we will get you there quickly and safely.

Moving Through the Galleries

The main galleries are located on the second floor of the building and are served by a lift. Due to the listed nature of the building the lift is restricted in size.  The door to the lift is 800mm wide, and the internal space within the lift is 1200mm x 1200mm.  Please note that lighting may be dimmed in some places to protect the artefacts from light damage.
